An exhibition devoted to modern art considered ‘degenerate’ by the Nazi regime in the 1930s
The Musée Picasso is devoting an exhibition to ‘degenerate art’ as defined by the Nazi regime in the 1930s. It was in Munich in 1937 that the propaganda exhibition ‘Entartete Kunst’ was held, bringing together more than 700 works of modern art considered to be degenerate. The exhibition, on show at the Musée Picasso until 25 May 2025, traces the historical background to this persecution of the artistic avant-garde and the destruction, sale and confiscation of works. Visitors can admire paintings by Pablo Picasso, Vassili Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Van Gogh, Marc Chagall and Otto Freundlich.
From 9.30 am to 6pm. Closed on Monday and 1st May.
