Photographs of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp taken by the renowned photographer Raymond Depardon.

To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the Shoah Memorial in Paris is presenting the exhibition ‘Auschwitz-Birkenau as seen by Raymond Depardon’. In 1979, the photographer and director came to take pictures of the Auschwitz-Birkenau site, which had just been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He stayed there for two weeks, capturing what remained of this place of extermination of the Jews. The black-and-white photographs are being shown to the public for the first time. On display from 26 June to 9 November 2025.
