William Basinski, renowned composer and saxophonist, takes to the stage at the Petit Bain to immerse himself in his experimental soundscapes
William Basinski, a classically trained musician and composer, has been recognised for his work in experimental media for over three decades. Using obsolete technologies and analogue tape loops, he creates soundscapes exploring the temporal nature of life, resonating with memory and the mystery of time. His signature work, ‘The Disintegration Loops’, has received international critical acclaim. In his performance at the Petit Bain, Basinski presents his latest album, ‘September 23rd’, recorded in 1982 and recently discovered, offering a fascinating insight into his early musical explorations. Originally scheduled to take place at the Gaité Lyrique, the concert has been moved to the Petit Bain.
