Chagall At Work. Drawings, Ceramics and Sculptures 1945-1970

A group of works by Marc Chagall recently added to the collections of the Centre Pompidou.

For the first time, the Centre Pompidou is showing an ensemble of works by Marc Chagall, which were gifted to the collections in 2022 by Bella and Meret Meyer. The exhibition brings together 127 drawings, five ceramic works and seven sculptures by the artist. Visitors can admire the preparatory drawings by Chagall for the costumes and stage curtain of the ballet The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky, as well as sketches and models for the ceiling painting of the Palais Garnier Opera House, commissioned by the Minister for Culture André Malraux in 1962. On show in the west gallery, level 4, from 4 October 2023 to 26 February 2024.
From 11am to 9pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
