In fact, Paris has just made its official entry into the world’s top 20 most sustainable destinations in the world, in the prestigious GDS-Index. The destination also ranks in 7th place among international capitals, in 5th place among the cities of central and southern Europe, and in 3rd place among big cities.
This progression is due in particular to significant advances in the ‘Destination Management Performance’ category (destination strategy, measurement, impact, certifications, etc.), with a score of 79.58 compared with 77.62 in 2023.
The GDS-Index, the leading international ranking system in terms of sustainable tourism, evaluates cities according to 70 criteria covering environmental, social and economic aspects.
