Regulations on 'accessibility'

 The City of Paris actively pursues a policy of integrating disabled people, whether they be Paris residents or visitors to the city, through improvements in access to buildings and their facilities. In addition to providing social benefits for disabled people, the City of Paris is constantly improving access to transport, services, leisure, housing and education.

Law of 11 February 2005

Law n° 2005-102 of 11 February 2005 'for the equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship of disabled people' has strengthened the municipality's scope of action in this regard. This law specifies that accessibility for disabled people, regardless of their category of disability (physical, visual, hearing or mental), to establishments receiving the public or places open to the public will become mandatory on 1 January 2015.

Decree of 30 November 2007 (passage 34)'Modifying the Decree of 1 August 2006 setting out the provisions taken to apply articles R. 111-19 to R. 111-19-3 and R. 111-19-6 of the building and housing law relating to the accessibility for disabled people to establishments receiving the public and facilities open to the public during their construction or creation'.
