A large proportion of the events at the Paris 2024 Games will take place in the heart of the city, thanks to the existing sports infrastructure and that transformed into an Olympic stadium during the competition.
Road competitions are held outdoors and opening ceremonies are organised outside the stadium. The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games takes place between the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées.
The Paris Metro and RER are fast and efficient ways of getting around Paris and its suburbs. RATP plans to increase the frequency of trains to cope with the influx of visitors. The main lines to the Olympic venues will be reinforced.

This summer, there will be impacts during certain periods.
Three metro stations will be closed - Concorde (lines 1, 8 and 12), Tuileries (line 1), Champs-Élysées - Clémenceau (lines 1 and 13) on the following dates:
Buses and trams offer a pleasant alternative for getting around while enjoying the urban landscape.
The extensive bus network covers the whole of the city and the surrounding area.
This summer, some bus routes will be diverted due to the installations and security perimeters set up before and during the Paris 2024 Games.

During the Paris 2024 Games, free, reservation-free shuttle bus lines will transport spectators to the six competition venues furthest from the public transport network.

Several tramway lines (T1 to T8) mainly on the outskirts of Paris.
Three Tramway stations will not be served this summer:
Tramway T2: Porte d'Issy and Porte de Versailles - from 29 August to 7 September 2024
Tramway T3a: Porte de Versailles - from 29 August to 07 September 2024
Tramway T3b: Colette Besson - from 29 August to 08 September 2024
Transport tickets
From 20 July to 8 September 2024, the Pass Paris 2024 allows unlimited access to the 5 zones of Paris and its region, to all the competition sites located and to the two Paris airports (Orly and Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle). It is available from 1 to 7 days, with a sliding scale of charges.

On our website in physical pass format. You can collect your pass free of charge at SPOT24 or at our information point at Gare du Nord. Delivery to mainland France is also an option.
Load it at the station onto a Navigo Easy pass.
Electronically on the official app Transport Public Paris 2024.
Classic Navigo day and week passes** will not be available for purchase during this period, nor will Paris Visite passes** (neither purchasable nor usable).
On the Anticipate in the Games platform, you will find daily and hourly traffic forecasts by line and station (metro, RER, train and tram).

Cycling is a great way to get around. Paris has a secure cycle network of over 400km. Considerable efforts have been made to facilitate soft mobility.
All the competition venues in the Ile-de-France region (with the exception of the Arena Paris Nord Villepinte) are accessible via the Olympic cycle paths linking the venues. Some of these lanes have been given the colours of the Paris 2024 Games and painted pink.
Vélib' operators (21,000 bicycles), free-floating bicycles (30,000) and Parisian bicycle rental companies (5,400+ bicycles) are also stepping up their offer. Giant temporary parking areas**, free of charge and secure, are being set up in the immediate vicinity of competition and celebration sites** to welcome cyclists in the best possible conditions and prevent bike theft.

Many of the competition venues are located in the centre of Paris, not far from each other. It's perfectly possible to get there on foot and enjoy a stroll through the streets.
It is advisable to check your itinerary if you wish to access an area with a temporary Paralympic site: Tour Eiffel, Invalides, Champ de Mars...

In certain areas, taxi and VTC travel is regulated this summer:
From 28 August to 11 September 2024: taxis, VTCs or mini buses are not authorised to circulate within the red perimeter, in the vicinity of Olympic venues except to drop off or pick up a customer with the digital pass, Games Pass.

From 28 August to 11 September 2024, motorised traffic will be restricted in certain areas this summer.
You cannot access the red perimeter - Olympic site or road events. An exemption is possible if you are staying in a hotel located within the red perimeter and with a private car park off the public highway. In this case :
A Games Pass is required subject to a validated request on the platform.
From 15 July to 15 September 2024, 185 km of roads around Paris are reserved for accredited vehicles and emergency and security vehicles (transporting athletes, accredited journalists and official delegations).
These lanes are also accessible to taxis and public transport.
They are activated daily for the duration of the Games, depending on traffic and the competition schedule, with specific signage.
You cannot use these lanes if you are not one of the authorised vehicles.
